The girls wearing their "thinking" caps practicing math drills! |
Since I already had the schedule done for this week (starting tomorrow) I decided to just make today and tomorrow half days and split the lessons between the two. I think this will help ease us into our new adventure rather than getting overwhelmed trying to do everything in one day!
The kids sure did great! I explained to them what I had planned and then we just dug in. Sammy and Alivia read books while I was helping Annabelle with her math, and the girls worked together while I was helping Sammy.
Sydney had a rough start to her morning though, so she was a bit clingy for a while. Once she felt better she even sat in a chair for a bit and "read" her books! But then she got bored and thought it would be a good idea to climb on the table!! So, I let the girls take a break to play with her while I finished up with Sam.
I'm sure we will have some bumps along the way, but we will just figure it out as we go along. That is one of the many blessings of homeschooling. There are no hard and fast rules, you can do what works best for you and your kids! I just know this is going to be a fantastic school year!!
woo hoo!
