First Field Trips and School Pics

Bet you thought you'd see a dozen pictures in this post huh? Well...you would, except the memory card I took the pictures on can not be read by my card reader. So, you will have to wait until I can get them put on a CD to be able to upload them here. What a pain, but I did get some good pics so it is worth the wait!

Anyway, yesterday we took our first field trip. We visited the Clare Welcome Center. We are studying about maps so I thought this would be a good place to find a few. We only found one, of Michigan, but I did find a few pamphlets on other places that might be great for future field trips!

Today, we visited the Dow Gardens. We are studying about trees and have to make a nature notebook. We took paper and a crayon to rub against the bark of the trees, and collected samples of leaves. I also took pictures of each tree...again, you will have to wait for those!

I also took some school pictures of the kids today. We only had about an hour to accomplish everything (the pictures and the collecting) so we were pretty rushed, but I think I got some great pictures of my students! And to add to their educational session today, they even got some photography lessons. The girls love taking pictures and I am more than happy to share my camera and knowledge (what little I  have anyway) with them!

We never cracked a book today, but I think all in all it was a very educational day!!
